BenQ DW1670, Sony DRU-820A and I/O Magic (DW1670 OEM) crossflash!

Which drive id does your drive have, which firmware do you want to crossflash to ?

Hello everyone!! Well, It's been some long long time since i posted a problem... unfortunately not cause everything was going as smooth but cause I just didn't have time at hand any more

so, straight to the point, I've just got a pretty old external SONY DRU-820A fw2.0B, It cannot do quality scans, and it's really noisy and always fails at burning DVDs faster than 4X, so I thought maybe crossflashing to DW-1670 would do the trick and solve the issue, I downloaded the latest BenQ fw 1.03, edited the drive ID with MCSE 1.1.0.21, and try to flash the drive, and it gave me the following error:
I tried the original SONY fw 1.0C with the same result:
and i didn't even find anything about the currently loaded 2.0B firmware anywhere!!

:edit:Ok folks.. I knew it looked suspicious all the way, this is an original external drive with fw2.0B, so it should be a DRX-820U right?! Here's something that I'm gonna do, I just got the DRX-820UL fw 2.0D, and it seems the hardware was accepted, I'll flash it and check what'll happen, I'll let you know what happens wish me luck

Ok, updated successfully from DRU-820A 2.0B to 2.0D... let's restart and see!

:edit:... Ok, now i feel stupid, I've done two things that can be categorized as hasty & dumb...
1) Hasty: Restarting the PC very quickly after posting this very post, and forgetting to paste the contents of the clipboard containing the fw flash log...

2) Dumb: Rebooting in the first place!! For God's sake!! It's an external USB drive! all I needed was to turn the case's power off, and unplug the USB cable from the PC if I wanted to be double safe!! DAMN!

Ok, anyway, the drive is still "Unupgradeable"... I'll check if there's Ext fw for the ext Benq 1670 equivalent, whatever what that is.... :/edit:

tried to crossflash to EW-167B fw1.01 after editing with MCSE, still the same thing,
for real now... anyone could help... please!? :/edit:
