| I bought Verbatim 25 Pack Retail Spindle DVD+R (order number: 43248) for my 16X Philips DVDR1620K. I tried to burn DVDs, but I couldn't. I tried three different programs (NERO, NTI, Roxio) but all of them gave error messages about the DVDs and stopped burning. I tried to burn them at 4x speed. I tried both firmware version 2.1(original one) and 2.2 for my dvd writer. I sent an email to Verbatim and Philips and asked for help. Philips sent a reply and said that they don't have a compatible media list, so they can't help. Verbatim didn't send a reply. Below you can find the mail that I sent to Verbatim. It includes the error messages I got. Has anybody tested 16X Philips burner with 4x Verbatim DVD+R media? The mail that I sent to Verbatim: ********************************************* Hi I bought Verbatim 25 Pack Retail Spindle DVD+R (order number: 43248) for my 16X Philips DVDR1620K. My dvd writer could write to very low quality and cheap DVDs, and I was very surprised to see that it couldn't write to your dvds, which are known as high quality dvds. Are your DVDs compatible with my writer? What should I do? Regards, Error logs of programs are as follows: First I tried latest version of Roxio Media Creater 7. It gave me the error: 03/0c/00 "write error" Then I uninstalled Roxio and installed latest version of NTI. | Hi Thank you. I chose this drive, because I was impressed with the review of Cdfreaks. Especially DVD+R writing results. I have tried 3 different DVD+R medias and 1 DVD-R media so far, and the drive could write properly to only 1 DVD+R media. It means 1 out of 4. I was shocked to see that it couldn't write to 4x Verbatim DVD+R. |
