Wow, these must be very popular. The price has gone up to almost 1.10 per disc already.

On the bright side, the Maxteks that you just posted are still .86/ea.

Be interesting to see if they decide to raise the price on these too.

Are these as good as the Smartblu in terms of print surface, burn quality? Any longevity test anywhere ?

The print surface would be as good as Smartblu's if these Infomedias were just wide-sputtered. Nice bright white. The print layer is thick enough to make the discoloration at the clear hub minimal, but not good enough for me . YMMV .

Burns are among the best I'm seeing. Haven't had time to road test a ton of them yet in my standalone players, but so far the playback is as good as the burn scans. I've been unable to get any manufacturing details from suppliers or even from Infomedia. It seems these are being manufactured in an underground plant by magical beings who are very secretive by nature . No guesses regarding longevity, beyond the fact that clean burns are more likely to give decent longevity than burns that are at the edge of usability like most of the media available at this price.

I will continue to use Smartblu's in the majority of my burning for their wide sputtering and longevity assurance.

Thanks, deanwitty. I value longevity a great deal so I will stick to Smartblu until the price pf the Panasonics come down to earth.

If you are looking for long term back-ups of important data, Falcon or Smartblu 4x or Panasonic 4x/6x BD-Rs are probably the best choices currently.

If you're looking for the best burning BD-R's at a bargain price, Smartblu or Infomedia 4x BD-R. Infomedias are sold under the brand "Maxtek" in the US, found on Amazon.
