Yes, I've also run into KQ09. And I find the same problem as when I use NEC ND-6650A. My toshiba can't recognize it when booting. And windows can only recognize as secondary slave with DMA off(I read these info from NERO). Does the way that connecting 45 and 47 pin work with HL drivers as NEC's? Is there anyone have the same problem?

Another question, does 4084N support -R DL?

that'`s because your drive is a slimline and has not the appropriate firmware for your lappy.

I found almost toshiba laptop CDROM BIOS setting is SLAVE JUMP. but HLDS 4084N is master setting.

you can try TEAC W28EA , this type is SLAVE

another way is change 47 pin setting . it need a little hardware knowledge.

I just switched out my stock burner in my dell Insiron 6000 to the 4048n. Windows allows me to use the drive in read mode. But I can not burn straight to the drive from windows to a CD. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
