Thanks 2601. Is there a drive that you don't have?

The H55N uses the same chipset as H50N , so suffering from PIF spikes is normal.

Thanks for the scan 2601. Burn time of 5:03 on +R isn't any faster than what I'm getting on the LG GSA H-42N @ 18X, though. Post a -R burn @ 20X when you get a chance.

yes, +R is not really much faster, but -R should be about 15-20 seconds faster.
I just wonder why 18x is so "slow". Maybe too long leadin/out

Do you mean "exact" same chipset. ????

If so, i can smell a crossflashing coming on

72$ = 58.83 euro's, this very expensive for an LG dvd-rw, with only a few more euros you can get a plextor, and abuse it's varirec options.

19 sec lead-in, ~15sec lead-out. Very fast timing. Made in Japan Verbatim 16x DVD-R (TY) used.

Normal scan don't work, so i have to do a quick quality scan instead.

No error on the LG. But the Lite-On got read error at the last 400MB mark...

Lead-in is a long 49 sec Made in Japan Verbatim 16x DVD+R (TY) used

The spikes occur on those dips. Heard this is normal for Panasonic chipset...

Smooth transfer on the LG

Thanks for the posts Sen.
