RJ11 fw has no listing for T002 but 8x burns are no problem.

If that doesn't work i have no idea.

Thanks ala42!
Give me an idea of exactly where I should "left click on my drive"?

Thanks

There's a drop down and lists all your LG drives. Left click the drive you want to flash. Like here

After you have loaded the Firmware with MCSE, klick on the dropdown field in the bottom right corner, and than choose "GSA-H42N", even if it already is shown above.
Then you will get a popup:
Quote:
---------------------------
MediaCodeSpeedEdit
---------------------------
Do you really want to adapt the flasher to flash this firmware
to a 'GSA-H42N' drive ?

Ja Nein

Thanks guys, problem solved. I clicked that thing 3 or 4 different ways and finally it did as you said. Too bad it is such an obtuse feature.

Much obliged. If this place ever shuts down I might just as well stop burning.

No argument. The problem was I selected the drive a number of times and never saw the pop-up box, even before the suggestions above.

Thanks ala42! It took about 10 min for my H42N to transcode one of my DVDs (28% compression).

You need to use MCSE (MediaCodeSpeedEdit) to cross flash.

Why are YUDEN000 T02 and TYG02 disabled? They're my primary media.
Can the write strategies be properly restored by renaming the MID's?

edit: I can't even rename them. When I try to set the MID, MCSE crashes.

It burns YUDEN000T02 and TYG02 fine. I don't have any TYG02 scans at the moment, but here is the T02 scan.

That's very nice. This was burned with the the MID's for the strategies holding their A_ prefix? MCSE is acting weird. I can rename A_TYG02 to TYG02 just fine, but when I try to rename A_YUDEN0 T02 000 to YUDEN000 T02 000, the program crashes. Is it worth it to rename these MID's?

Yep! I don't think you need to rename these MIDs though imho.

Renaming A_TYG02 to TYG02 and importing the media code block can't hurt though, right?

Importing the media code block just sets the media name, which you can edit directly.
