Last week I received the LG GSA-4165B DVD Super Multi drive.
I have it in a USB 2.0/Firewire box (so it's bascily a GSA5165B)

Now this drive by the looks of it has been promised for ages but only just been released.
I got this by accident as I ordered the GSA-4163B.
There are only a few differences, it now supports DVD-R DL and some of the writing speeds are a little faster.
NO lightscribe, but I don't want that anyway.

The auto firmware updater doesn't work just gives 'Out of memory error.
But there is no reference of this drive anywhere on LG websites.

The info I had to make my self from testing as there is no real info for this drive.
The drive goes really well, it's very quiet and really fast, a few niggles with the DVD-RAM side of things but now I format with DVD Form (from Panasonic/Matsushita) and no more hassles.
Keep in mind I'm busy doing some performance tests so the page will change as I do each one.
I'll also do a write up of my experiences as well.

Do you've a screenshot where it says GSA-4165B?

Because the GSA-4165B has been renamed to GSA-4167B.

I can make one, I've can get a screen shot posted of the properties in Nero I've also got 'Quick setup guide' for the 4165B that came with the drive.

I think the 4167B will be the Lightscribe version.

I'll get back with some piccies, means pulling apart the external box.

How do you know if you have Lightscribe?, it's not mentioned any where on the drive.
Nero doesn't say that it has it.
I doubt wether it has, but I could be wrong.

Just wanted to point out that LG's policy (if there really are identical model names with different specs) is a little bit strange (btw. the korean drive doesn't show 'Lightscribe logo', too; do they really claim it has Lightscribe support in that czech article, or just guessing ?)

In your review you list the drive as supposedly having 8x+dl. I believe the 4167 only has 6x+dl. Other sites are showing the 4165 as having 4x+dl and 4x-dl. Can you confirm your number?
