Re: LG GH24NS/LS70

Wow, looks like Renesas made some improvement on this new chipset since their previous chipset burned awfully at 24x with MCC media.

Re: LG GH24NS/LS70

The speed selection is only 8x/16x/22x/24x ??? No 12x???
Also is 16x P-CAV or CAV?

Nice to see that LG has a good 24x burner.

Thank you 2601 for the reply.
If the drive gives good burns, then it doesnt make much difference if it's CAV or P-CAV.

It definitely makes me consider about getting this new one after getting rid of the 24NS50.

Re: LG GH24NS/LS70

Hello everyone. Someone can tell me that this model does not recognize DVD-R at 4x speed. Is there any solution for this?

I've tried different brands of disc, but none can burn at 4x. Always detected as a minimum speed 8x...

Re: LG GH24NS/LS70

WHY would you need to burn at 4x?

That is old fairytales.

Eg. you have 16x rated dvds you should burn at 8x or 12x for best results.

Burning THAT slower because it gives better results is an old myth.............
