I got GSA-T20N drive with my new Fujitsu LifeBook laptop. The previous one (Fujitsu LB also) was equipped with NEC ND 6500A drive, which seemed to be solid and reliable, but was sometimes unpredictable while burning DVD+R DL media.
I hoped that GSA-T20N drive would be better than NEC, but faced the greater problems.
I tried Verbatim and Ritek DVD-+R DL media to burn, and failed totally. This drive stops burning them at the layer break point (~50% progress),
so you can throw the disc away. NEC did the job in all cases, but there were errors sometimes while arranging playback on computer or separate DVD player.
Changing firmware version to WP03 gave no result. And, as noted here, the verifying and ripping of DVD discs is a way slower on GSA in comparison to NEC.
Can anybody explain me what to do to make this drive work with DL media in a proper way?
My OS is Win XP SP2, and I tried both DVD-R/DVD+R DL media. Software I use is ImgBurn and Elby CloneDVD.
Same for me .. So this drive is not bitsetting capable ? Why to have a dual layer writer if you can't write dvd+R DL ?

...because you need quality media DL from Verbatim and not that crap from Ritek!!!
