Both problems might be linked to the scanning DVD-ROM drive.

LiteOn burners are good scanners.
But LiteOn DVD-ROM drives scans cannot be compared to LiteOn burners' scans.

The 0@P ! is a bug of the drive. It also occurs with some LiteOn DVD-ROM models.

Did you burn with UJ12 FW to check results against UL02 FW ?
As I wrote in previous page, after my tests,UJ12 FW found far stable than UL02 FW.

Verbatim MCC004, 16x branded, burned at 18x, (5:14) UJ13

My best burn of this media at 18x using this LG H10N@H12N. Sorry there's no burn scan but Nero CD/DVD Speed crashed when I went to save it to disc.

Also thanks to ala42 for announcing this firmware and the ease of which I was able to crossflash to it using MCSE.

My thanks to Buffalo, ala42 and everybody else making this UJ13 update possible.

MID: YUDEN000-T03 (Verbatim branded MIJ) TH000021
Type: DVD+R 16x rated
Burned with: CD/DVD Speed 4.7.0.2
Burned as: Create Disc, burn image
Burned at: 18x speed
Burntime: 5:10
Drive/Firmware: LG GSA-H10N@H12N /UJ13

Jitter is dancing rather high, but no problem to read back burned data with any of my drives. Note after last jitter rise the disc is much darker (past 16x speed area).

My first tests looks like UJ13 have auto DVD-ROM set for +R media (or if updated as I did from TDB UJ12 RC1-FW keep the DVD-ROM set for +R media)

Also recognized media reading I think is a bit slower, but ability reading scratch or bad media improved

Are you sure? Thought it was better with UJ12. Only made some quick tests.
