Hello,

I was just told by Lite On that they are no longer manufacturing these and have no future plans for any other simular products.

Can someone please recommend a DVD recorder with an internal Hard Drive that can play and record on Dual Layer disks?

I have written to Philips but have not heard back from them as yet.

Most appreciated,

As far as i know there is no company making any stand alone DVD Player/Burners with HDD anymore. You may find refurbished, Used etc. I have the Toshiba RD-XS55ku, That was a heck of a machine with a 250g HDD. Its only 11 months old from when it was released and since then Panasonic, Toshiba and the rest of them stopped making them. Usually all DVD players play DL discs. 99% of commerical discs are D9 DL. Most ppl that make DL discs booktype them to DVD-ROM. Now im talking about what im seeing in the U.S.

I also have the philips 3575 machine, Polaroid also makes a almost identical unit but the philips is better, I had both.
The early build units have problems with the Cable/QAM part of the tuner forgetting those channels but the newer builds should be fixed now. I have to get mine RMA'd becuase of the channel loss problem but they have a one year warranty and Philips actually honors it and even has done some firmware updates for it.
