sorry for being a nob, i have'nt done this before...
Best thing to do this:

1.) DISABLE AnyDVD (little fox on the taskbar should be grey).
2.) Navigate to the VIDEO_TS folder of the DVD.
3.) Copy all files ending with .IFO to your harddisk. ONLY those with .IFO, not the big .VOB files!
4.) ENABLE AnyDVD again (just in case, so you don't forget it)
5.) ZIP the .IFO files to one file. Name it with a cool filename (e.g., Little_Black_Book_UK.zip)
6.) Write a an email to support(at)slysoft.com (replace (at) with @). Name your problem, try to identify the disc (e.g, Little Black Book, R2, UK), the UPC number if possible (below the barcode on the package). The information output of AnyDVD can be helpful as well.
7.) They like if you include the AnyDVD version and your AnyDVD serial number in this mail. You find this information in the Settings Window -> About.
8.) Attach ZIP file with the IFOs and send it.

If you like, you can send this mail to bugs(at)elby.ch as well, so I can have a look at these .IFOs as well.

Macrovision® Introduces RipGuard DVD™ to Dramatically Reduce Digital DVD Piracy

Combination of Macrovision Analog Copy Protection and RipGuard DVD creates world’s first analog and digital DVD content protection solution

SANTA CLARA, Calif.— February 15, 2005-Macrovision® Corporation (Nasdaq: MVSN), the world’s leading supplier of content and software value management solutions, today announced the worldwide availability of RipGuard DVD™ a digital rip-control solution for DVD Video. RipGuard DVD plugs the “digital hole” created by PC-based DeCSS ripper software, which allows millions of average consumers to make unauthorized perfect digital copies of copyrighted DVDs in mere minutes. These copies can be burned to inexpensive recordable DVDs or uploaded onto the peer-to-peer (P2P) networks. P2P downloads and the “rent, rip, return” of DVDs are an ongoing source of billions of dollars in annual revenue losses for the movie studios.

RipGuard DVD is a unilateral content protection system that is applied to DVD discs and requires no additional software or hardware to be incorporated into PCs, DVD players or DVD recorders. The combination of Macrovision’s analog copy protection technology (ACP) and RipGuard DVD provides comprehensive DVD protection for both major piracy threats faced by video content copyright owners — the analog and digital holes. RipGuard DVD is a technological solution that effectively protects a copyright owner’s rights. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) makes it illegal to attempt circumvention of such technological measures.

I don't know where you have sent them, I have not received them.
But I have received IFOs for the DVD "The Forgotten" (RC2) some days ago. I believe "Little Black Book" (RC2) has the same protection.

Please try AnyDVD 4.5.8.1, it should work for you:
http://update.slysoft.com/SetupAnyDVD4581.exe

Let me know, if this fixes your problem. If it does, we can release it officially.

I just tried downloading the new anydvd 4.5.8.1 off the above link, and come to install it, only to be greeted with a currpt file error message. Is it just me having a bad day or has anyone else had a problem installing it?

I can confirm that is sent the IFO's to slysoft at 13.21 this afternoon from the U.K, as i also sent the same info to Fengtao at DVDidle.com who sent me an updated dll file for his DVD Region+CSS Free 5.80 which fixed the problem.

I made a perfectly good back up using clone copying the film only along with the menu. I didnt try backing up the whole dvd, although i would assume it should work.

I am happy again many thanks to everyone with their help and advice.

Found it! The new version should work with "Little Black Book". But you did not send IFOs for "She hates me", did you?

Thank you! I've checked it, AnyDVD 4.5.8.1 should break this protection as well.

ARccOS™ is a passive copy control technology with a dynamic copy protection system. Every single ARccOS™ guarded DVD-Video title can be equipped with a different encryption code.
I guess this is why it seems to be so many, they are not different protections, they just enter a new encryption code for each movie in different regions.

I wonder if Slysoft will be able to just beat the copy protection itself and not just have to look over every .IFO files and fix each individual encryption code.

In the future by fixing one encryption code will it cause problems with another, in the long run?

Hamp, you believe the BS on the Arccos Website? There is no individual encryption code on Arccos protections. According to LIGHTNING UK!, this is what happened:

Correct. They changed the link command to fool the Arccos detection in programs like AnyDVD. Sony seems to be very desperate.
It took me 10 minutes to change AnyDVD to check for the new link command. Sony's attempts are useless.
