Matshita BD-RE UJ225SATA
AnyDVD Discuss, Matshita BD-RE UJ225SATA at Movie copy software forum; Hi, I bought an HD AnyDVD license hoping I could watch my movie but it doesn't work. I set the region to USA and that didn't change anything. I am trying to watch "7 Zwerge" (European DVD) on the Matshita BD-RE UJ225SATA drive on a Win Vista laptop. AnyDVD cannot

@ Urdypooh, Welcome to the Forum. Are you certain that your problem is actually a Region Code problem but isn’t a NTSC Video Format/PAL Video Format problem? The AnyDVD software program doesn’t convert European PAL Video Format to the USA NTSC Video Format. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PAL http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTSC Also concerning your Matshita drive and the AnyDVD software program -> http://club.cdfreaks.com/637240-post2.html Regards, bjkg

coolcolors, I use version 6.3.0.3 and as far as I can tell I am using the latest firmware. How could I test it? (I just bought the laptop and therefore *assume* that I have the latest firmware.) I bought the license from the slysoft website and the burner is set for region 1. bjkg, I am sure it is not a PAL/NTSC issue otherwise the BD would start running but it does not even start running. My graphics card driver can decode PAL and NTSC.

@ Urdypooh, Perchance did you review the referenced Forum posting in my #3 posting and note the comments from SlySoft Technical Staff concerning Matshita Drives and Region Coding problems? If you set your Matshita Drive to Region 1 and your European 7 Zwerge DVD is Region 2 the AnyDVD software program will not function on a Matshita Drive to allow playback viewing. In the referenced Forum posting the SlySoft Technical Staff member explains in detail why the AnyDVD region coding software program (or any other software program) fails to work with Matshita Drives. Regards, bjkg

bjkg, that seems exactly to be the problem what is posted in your #3. I tested the same DVD with a TEAC DVD drive (set to region 1 playing this region 2 DVD) and it worked nicely. If I were to create an iso image using DeepBurner Pro while having run AnyDVD would that be without the region code and therefore playable on the Matshita drive?

| Rip the disc to hdd and remove the protections by using that, then burn it to another DVD and you can enjoy the movie even on a crappo MatSHITa drive... BTW, could you maybe please post some info about this slimtype BD drive (using nero infotool or discinfo)??
