I have what seems to be a common problem, an inability to successfully register either program. I'm running XP Pro with SP2, Zone Alarm as firewall and Bit Defender 9 for antivirus. I've tried every damned possible combination of versions and security settings, including absolutely no security at all, without success. Every time I get the same error message, saying that the Registration of XXXXXX has failed. I've asked Slysoft for help without any useful answers. The reg keys appear to install correctly but the apps will not run, saying the Trial period has expired for CloneDVD.

I'm impressed by the programs but this kind of problem really shouldn't exist for a "commercial" program.

(Yes, I've unblocked thre keys, turned off DEP, turned off firewalls and virus protection and restarted my PC about a zillion times)
Help please???

Where did you obtain your keys? I find it very difficult to believe Slysoft wouldn't be helpful to any customer that has purchased their product.

Having not seen this thread until this most recent post, I would have thought such measures were utter nonsense. On my rig I've never had any problems registering either program, indeed disabling security functions within the OS seems very counter-productive.

My keys came direct from SlySoft, as did both the program downloads. If the supplier cannot tell me why they fail to work correctly, trying a variety of security configurations was my only option. A variety of suggestions have been made to deal with this issue in this forum, but none appear to work.
Slysoft themselves suggested that I explore the possibility of one or more Windows security features being the cause, together with 3rd party software.
If you have any constructive comments, I'd be happy to receive them.

{lol}

Constructive comments? You're new here so I will spare you, and the rest of the board, one of my long-winded thread-killing posts...

The behavior that is being exhibited by your 'keys' is very suspect. I have observed that very same behavior from multiple machines myself, and the source was always the same. Being an IT person sucks at times, like when everyone calls on you to fix things that don't work....

Everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt....

copy and paste your key info into a .reg file

go into registry
export any entry to desk top
right click edit
select all delete
paste all you anydvd info into the reg file
save changes
exit
double click new reg file
should enter all your info into the registry

repeat for clonedvd

Thanks for that.
I have tried this without success.
I believe that the error messages I'm getting are from the Reg programs for both apps, not from Windows itself.
I have to agree that it seems like my keys are invalid or otherwise broken.
I've sent them back to Slysoft for verification.

I can't understand what is going on with you
If the info is put in a reg file then it does not have anything to do with the main programs

Is it possible you have registry lock on your system
barring that I would have to say what everyone already thinks and that is you are using crack keys and poor ones at that

I can't believe that both keys are erroneous

My (real, paid for) keys work fine on another PC
I still get the message that my trial period has expired after trying to register my keys. Uninstalling and reinstalling the apps makes no difference.
Installing the keys as .reg files also makes no difference.
While I was running the trial period, with about 4 days left, the program suddenly decided the trial period had expired. After which I've had no joy at all.
Any idea, no matter how weird, will be entertained if it fixes things

when was the last time you did a clean install of the os? you really should do this every 6-8 months as old software and more can really wreak havoc on your system.

Rebuilt from scratch about 3 months ago.
No other problems are evident.

well if you don't want to do a clean install then check your admin settings and see if it's set up right. if it is then i would do a clean install. just make back ups of everything you need first.

Clutching at straws here, but try using a registry scanner like Registry Mechanic

from the computer that works with your keys
export the license keys to hard drive as .reg file(do a search on this forum there was a post to recover lost keys)
then transfer this reg file to your sucky computer and double click
see if that works
btw i think you r allowed to install on diif pc you own as long as you do not use them at the same time

Ollie,

I installed a licensed copy of CloneDVD2 on my laptop. I bought a new desktop with much faster performance and I want to migrate the CloneDVD2 installation from my laptop to the new desktop. I can't find the email with the license file in my laptop (I use Microsoft Outlook 2007). It seemed it got archived somewhere. Anyhow, I looked at the registry entry of my laptop and saw the CloneDVD2 entries which I exported and then imported to my new desktop but it didn't work. How can I reconstruct the registry key from my valid CloneDVD2 installation in my laptop?

Simply download and install the latest version of the software on the new system, register it with your license key, and then change any necessary settings. There really aren't many setting options in CloneDVD. You're making more work for yourself screwing around with the registry.
