Don't use a cracked version of AnyDVD.

@ babychar2002,

SlySoft has posted that your “File corrupted - please reinstall AnyDVD & run a virus check” warning is caused by the use of Cracked Illegal Pirated Software.

By making this posting you have revealed to all fellow Forum Members that you are a thief and are using Cracked Illegal Pirated Software.

The question is - why was the AnyDVD executable changed. One reason could be a virus infection (hence the message "run a virus check"). Another could be a hardware problem (but I doubt that the computer would run stable long enough to even boot Windows).
If you modify AnyDVD intentionally - either by using a hex editor, or by using one of the various "cracks" - you will see this message sooner or later.
If you see this message, I would say in 99.99% of the cases you have used a patch to bypass the registration check. And if you posted this in a public message board you have exposed yourself pretty well.

I can’t believe a CD Freaks Senior Member is ignorant enough to make this type of posting.

CD Freaks Forum management should take positive definitive steps to ban Forum Member thieves that use Cracked Illegal Pirated Software.

I think your problem might be the antivirus , have you installed the Windows Service pack 2? you might want to try ZoneAlarm and see if it still happens, this also happened to me due to the fact that i dont have sp2 installed .

James said 99.99% of the time its a crack - hmmm just wondering did he get those Viruses downloading cracks? I hardly think someone would create a virus just to target Anydvd .............yea RIGHT!!!

A senior member busted , what a shame

It appears
however, that the slysoft "crack detector" is a little bit
over zealous and is also causing problems for innocent
people as well. Be careful how quickly you condemn
someone.

@ babychar2002

It appears besides being a thief that uses Cracked Pirated Illegal software you are also less than truthful and have a poor memory.

Through CD Freaks Forum archives besides the CD Freaks link that Forum Member DJMind provided there is also evidence that you have been using the AnyDVD software program since version 5.1.1.1 which was released 21 Apr 05.

http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=137040

There is no way that your supposedly copy of AnyDVD v5.9.4.1 was a trail that somehow was infected with some virus. There is no way that you can install a legal trial copy of AnyDVD once you have previously installed AnyDVD and used it for more than 21 days.

You ‘story’ might fool some uninformed Forum Members but if they closely review the facts you ‘story’ does not ring true.

Best Regards,
bjkg

It's crude but I think when someone posts a post similar to this should get banned....but then again it could be another issue. The only thing weird is anyone with a legit key doesn't have these problems. As for trialware this is one of a million post on it.

Alright, since this has been a hot topic recently, I've gotten official word from SlySoft about this error message. I'll quote James directly.
Quote:
The "File corrupted - please reinstall AnyDVD & run a virus check" message is only displayed, if the AnyDVD executable has been modified. It is a simple integrity check. Reinstalling AnyDVD will always repair the problem. This message will not be displayed for any other reason (wrong registration key, etc.) The question is - why was the AnyDVD executable changed.
So for anyone who's getting this error message, reinstalling AnyDVD is the only option. For anyone who suspects piracy in a thread (and I definitely suspect it in this thread), James has also said this:
Quote:
But giving the users with this problem the "benefit of the doubt" I would leave these threads open.
So unless there's direct evidence that a crack has been used, I don't want anyone else to reply to these kinds of threads with anything other than "Reinstall AnyDVD".
