| james007torres24, Of course people have backed it up, the trilogy boxed set has been out since September, 2004 and is old news. Posting the AnyDVD info is good but all you have said is that you can't back it up. So what is the error or problem? |
| @ james007torres24, Welcome to the Forum. You mention that you have DVD43 installed in your computer. Strongly suggest removing all traces of DVD43 from your computer because AnyDVD and DVD43 have compatibility issues. Also suggest visiting SlySoft (http://www.slysoft.com) and download a copy of the latest version of CloneDVD. The DVDShrink software program is rather old, is no longer supported, and hasn’t been updated in over a year and a half. As request by Forum Member Whisperer1 please provide a detailed explanation as to exactly what problem you are experiencing when attempting to make a backup copy of the Commercial DVD Movie Title Star Wars A New Hope. Provide any error codes or error narratives that you are receiving. The more information you provide to Forum Members the better Forum Members will be able to provide assistance. Best Regards, bjkg |

| james007torres24 OK, I'll take a crack. Use rubbing alcohol and a real soft cloth to be sure the disk is 100% clean. Blow off any remaining lint with compressed air or other method. Examine the play surface by tipping it at different angles under a light to be sure it is lint and smudge free before starting. Fluorescent lights are better for this than tungsten or halogen lights. With AnyDVD running, use Windows Explorer to drag & drop "copy" the whole Video TS folder off the DVD original to a folder on your HDD. Use your slowest drive to do this and set AnyDVD to "Slow and Easy" for the drive being used. Your burner will generally be a slower drive than your ripper. Creating a folder named "Star Wars" on Desktop is OK for this and will be easy to find for the next step. If that works, without getting an error message from Explorer, then you are probably home free! You are now going to backup your movie from the desktop folder. Use the 3rd button in CloneDVD "Write Existing Data". In the "Source" area, you have to navigate to the Video TS folder which is within the "Star Wars" folder you created on your desktop. In the "Output Method" area, you, of course, will choose DVD Writer. Consult your CloneDVD manual, under help, if you want more details. If you did get an error from Explorer, then there is probably a manufacturing error on the original or there is a surface flaw that you have overlooked. | You should give IsoBuster a try located Here. They have a Freeware version that will work on even badly scatched disks. It takes awhile but it works. It is a smart tool from the folks at Smart Projects. Regards,
