| I upgraded from version 6.0.5.1 to 6.0.6.1 but AnyDVD will not run. The message appearing is "Trial period has Expired". I bought the product about 2 months ago and have upgraded successfully until this latest version. I have my "Key.AnyDVD" file which I ran again and did a few PC restarts but to no avail. If I uninstall the version 6.0.6.1 and reinstall the 6.0.5.1 version it works fine. Anyone any thoughts on this or have similar problems with the latest version. |

| @ netcomm, Welcome to the Forum. It appears that possibly your Registration Key has become “Blacklisted”. Did you purchase AnyDVD from SlySoft (http://www.slysoft.com)? If you purchased your Registration Key from SlySoft (http://www.slysoft.com) suggest contacting SlySoft (support(at)slysoft.com (replace (at) with @) for assistance. Best Regards, bjkg |

| I purchased directly from Slysoft. I've also sent query to Slysoft support but it could be up to 48 hours before I get a reply. When you say reg key could be 'blacklisted' - for what reason?. As I've said if I remove 6.0.6.1 and reinstall the 6.0.5.1 version there is no problem and I don't have to run the reg key file again |

| Don't do an upgrade to the latest version. Uninstall the previous version, reboot and then install the latest. I believe this has worked for others in your situation.

| I had tried a clean uninstall/re-install before and restarted the PC at each stage but to no avail. However the problem is solved now. It turned to be a Firewall problem. I have Zonealarm Security Suite and for some reason AnyDVd 6.0.6.1 refused to work with the Zonealarm program settings that all previous versions of AnyDVD had. What had put me off was the 'Your Trial Period has Expired' message that occurs with those Zonealarm Setting. (reinstalling 6.0.5.1 with those same Zonealarm settings lets AnyDVD works fine) I've now changed the settings in Zonealarm which allows ver 6.0.6.1 to work correctly. Thanks for all suggestions |

| for future reference for anyone who does a search and has a similar problem could you please state the exact setting changes you made? This could prove very helpful for other forum members.

| In Zonealarm Program Control, Trust Level is set as ‘Restricted’. This worked for all previous versions of AnyDVD up to 6.0.5.1. With those same Zonealarm settings version 6.0.6.1 will not run and I get the message ‘Your trial period has expired’ When I Change the Trust Level to Trusted then AnyDVD 6.0.6.1 works OK. Restricted access means the Program can perform trusted-level actions but cannot perform suspicious actions. Trusted access means Trusted Programs can perform suspicious actions without seeking permission, but unknown programs must ask for permission. |

Reportedly, AnyDVD only requires Internet for update checks, and the user should always have the option wheteher or not to permit automatic updates.

| I have zone alarm and anydvd worked fine for me and I have zone alarm set up to block anydvd and all other programs from the internet. I do not like programs calling home never know what they might send. I just update anydvd when I get an email or I see here there is an update. I also have the update for anydvd and clonedvd turn off. |

| The ZA sec suite has a function to actually prevent execution of a given program in addition to preventing internet access ZA intenet access prevention of AD does not cause any problem, however when ZA is used to prevent AD execution, AD is unable to do a key check and it appears as though it is unregistered ie the 21 day game over message occurs if AD is again permitted to execute the error goes away, internet acces can still be denied. This is not a bug : anytime a program is prevented from starting up by another program some error message is going to ensue Bottom line with ZA the trust level has to be at least 2 bars for all SS programs (not restricted ie restriction =1 bar, nor kill level) intenet acces can be either enabled or disabled this ZA feature is good for turning off nuisance progs however in my setup the new AD update did not change my trust levels |

| @zag Nice synopsis. Thanks for shedding some light on the issue. I despise software most firewalls. They create more issues than they are worth.

| System mechanic pro is another issue if you have these probems too well on the update getting the trial ordeal and if you just purchased and try to apply the reg key it'll be a problem too. Both are great programs I won't deny that but can cause issues as well. Just a little info to keep in mind.

| I have to say, Zone Alarm seems to be a bit less friendly than it used to be back in the day. I've had to uninstall it a few times to get certain things to work, but once they are all setup and working, I can reinstall Zone Alarm and things seem to work well for the most part. |

| I have it blocked from getting to the trusted and internet zone and have not had any problem with it. I went to zone alarm and set it for restricted and then it came up with the trial period had expired. I went back and just placed a ? mark in the trust level and X in the acess and server levels in zone alarm and it work fine. Never used the restricted in the trust level for anything do not know why I would block programs this way I just block them from my trusted zone and the internet. |

ie restricting programs and trojans from running ie you get a trojan and then keep it from running as opposed to removing it |
