| Hi, I am new here. I had a strange experience with pioneer dvr-111D(Manufactured at Oct 2006) ver 1.23 and Verbatim DVD+R DL.(Burned with Imgburn 2.3.2.0) The thing is: If I burn it as 2.4x, the quality is really bad and I even break one disk at the layer change point.(I can't verify the disk after the burn.) BUT,If I burn it as 6x, then, the quality is pretty good. Now my question is: is it a burner issue?Or it's a media issue? BTW, I also have Fuji DVD+R DL, the quality of the disk burn with dvr-111 at speed 2.4x is shitty. I haven't try with the higher speed. |

| If you are trying to check the quality with the same Pioneer drive it will have a problem at the layer break. My Pioneer 111D does this too and I think they are all that way. Pioneer drives are not the best drives for checking quality, but they do burn well. Just check the reading or playback with another computer/DVD player or something and see how that goes. |

| @ bobido, Welcome to the Forum. It appears that you believe in the unfounded myth that burning blank DVD Media slower is better. With modern quality DVD Media and modern DVD Burners with current up to date Firmware the best burning results are obtained by burning the blank DVD Media at or slightly below the rated speed of the blank DVD Media. Concerning DL DVD Media at this time/date the only DL Media that consistently produces quality error free results is Verbatim MKM001/MKM003 Mitsubishi Kagaku Media. All other DL Media is considered suspect and should be avoided. Regards, bjkg |

| You can scan first layer 0 and then layer 1 if you really want. Or try with DVDInfoPro.
