| Last 2 weeks I experienced certain issue while burning some avi files (most of them). Burning fails at the start (usually it goes right to 6% then it fails). I patched the firmware but that didn't help. It happens both on CD and DVD media. After I convert the file to DVD format it finishes burning without any major problem. What could cause that, is it file name lenght or? Is there some tip about file names, number of letters, space between words, etc? Well those files are from different sources so I suppose that shouldn't be problem with ripping etc... Maybe someone had some similar experience. Thanks for your answer in advance. |

| I think that I've found a solution for this problem. After I stop or pause Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 (KIS 9) realtime protection seems that burning failures don't happen. Strange... Maybe it's not compatible with Nero or just it blocks some important services or files that Nero is using... I burned some cd's and dvd's without any problem with my KIS turned off. I'll see how it behaves in next 2-3 days... |
| For burning, you might want to give ImgBurn a shot & always use Verbatim or if you can get them Taiyo Yuden (TY). http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

![]() You're welcome. At the time I was about to burn a lot of discs I just had installed KIS 2010, and it kinda helped me to determine that error since I had another internet security program installed. Just to mention that KIS 2009 doesn't cause problems to Nero. I continued to use KIS 2010 but I just pause protection while I'm burning stuff. |
| Btw. if someone finds other solution for this (besides pausing protection) it would be nice to post it here. |

The obvious “Solution” would be for YOU to contact Kaspersky Techincal Support and inform then of your “Problem”. Reguards, bjkg |
| I registered on their forum but they never sent confirmation e-mail. And that happened to a lot of people, there're many threads about that. Nevermind, I'm using another AV/IS application until they solve this. It's annoying to pause protection every time when you burn something (there's a big chance to forget to pause it too). And I'm a bit suspicious that it's not working well with jdownloader too. |

So in other words you have not contacted Kaspersky Technical Support. Attempting to register on a “Kaspersky Forum” is not contacting Kaspersky Technical Support. The correct manner to receive Kaspersky Technical Support is displayed on the below referenced Kaspersky Technical Support Web Link -> http://usa.kaspersky.com/support/home-support-case.php Regards, bjkg |
| I contacted their support and they opened me a case, but never really got any message from them regarding that problem since then. Nevertheless, I found the solution, somehow I just jumped in one thread on Kaspersky forum despite I haven't been registered and found this: http://209.85.129.132/search?q=cache...&ct=clnk&gl=ba I'm just about to try that solution. Seems that someone found a solution to that Kaspersky's bug. |
