I made some mistakes on the hub and stamper codes of the last disc (not easy to read...). The correct codes are: Hub: 8038 429 +R E B 14388, Stamper: ZD9576-DVR-T47D.

There abolutely is no reason to avoid MBI made MCC004s with this drive. On the contrary, I just love this batch.

First disc of the spindle. Higher PIEs than the DVD+R counterpart, especially at the end of the disc, PIFs and jitter on the same level. Will test 12x later.

Easy, don't jump the gun.

While Maxell Xtreme Protek is excellent media, very consistent quality usually, there is always a possibility of a bad batch. Can you test different media, e.g. Verbatim media that is of very good quality and widely available?

The Pioneer 215 is known to be a picky reader, it can show "less stellar" TRTs even if there is nothing wrong with the disc (although yours don't really look too good). Can you test the discs in another drive, possibly a disc quality scan even?

Hi, packetloss, unfortunately i don't have a drive capable of proper scanning.
Here's a scan from my LG drive, it's the same media from the previous post:

Don't look too good either. Just one last test, before you try out different media (if available). Go to the options of Nero CD-DVD Speed under "File / Options", and under "User Interface" set the priority to "High" and click on "ok". Restart Nero CD-DVD Speed.

This probably won't make a difference even, just want to make sure that those funky TRTs are not caused by other activity on your machine.

Actually, that looks a lot like how my E40L [equivalent of the H42/H44] TRTs discs that are perfectly fine. Not sure why it does it the way it does, but it does.

Ah, I see. The only LG drive I ever had was a GSA-H22N. Good and reliable drive, but it didn't have funky TRTs like that.

Well, the Pioneer TRT looks better than the first time at least. But still not a really good one. Hmmm. Is it a movie? If yes, do you have any problems in your stand alone players? If it's a data disc, any problems with reading the disc in Windows etc.?

According to Albert, the LG TRTs you posted earlier were fine, to be expected from your drive at least.

Ideally, you could just test different media and see if the problem still exists.

It's all data disk and they read just fine in windows. I just had some high expectations after reading the cdrinfo review.

All of the newer TRTs look good to me. Like I said, the Pioneer DVR-215, like most if not all Pioneers, is a rather picky reader.

As promised, a 12x burn of those MBI made MCC03RG20.
Burning 12x on this drive makes a lot of sense, simply because it's just marginally slower than 16x; very fast 12x burning.
