Not seen any link so far.
It maybe that there isn't yet.
The drive with the 1.13 fw may have come with that preinstalled.
Nice scans BTW.
I wonder how much better they would be at the media's rated speed. If any.

there is no way at present to flash it, even if you had the 1.13 firmware

Thanks for the response Brad. I noticed that the spec sheet for the 112D also says 5x for DVD-VIDEO, but the cdfreaks review of the 112D shows an end read speed of 12.43x. Curious.

Interesting isn't it.

Disc burnt earlier today. I find this staggering as this media is very poor. Never managed a successful burn...Til now.

This was burnt @ 4x. But have managed 8x too.
The 8x burn will not complete a TRT or scan, yet plays OK. The 4x burn will do a TRT, but scan fails just before halway. It too plays without a hitch.
Another success for Pioneer....Indeed. Building on that of the 110/111/112.

Hi

Regarding my earlier post (#88).
Two scans of DL media. The 1st was burned @ 8x, the 2nd was @ 4x.
Media was Infiniti '360' branded. MID RICOHJPN-D01-43, rated speeds 2.4x-4x-6x-8x.
Movie 28 weeks later (file on HD).

This media was so poor until now had no success with a complete burn.
@ 4x

@ 8x

For some reason when using either the Lite-on LH-20A1S or BenQ 1655. Cd/DVDSpeed failed to produce a scan beyond the layerbreak. I had always put this down to H/W until now.
Hence my trying K-Probe with the Samsung & Lite-On.
This drive is definitely a keeper.

Got my 115D in an enclosure, and my burn speed limit with it is 8x on the PC it's plugged into (can get 12x on the other).

Nevertheless, here's a backup that needed making, so I decided to make it my first 115D burn.

Edit: drive firmware is 1.06.

Yeah, apart from the clump of PIE/PIF, that's probably the best burn I've had of that media.

And your off-topic guess is 100% correct

Hehe, I'll only be posting scans of 8x media in here, as it's not really fair of me to go posting 8x burns of MIDs that can do 16x+ on this drive

[o/t]I hate using USB drives on the ATI. Times like that make me wish I still had the Intel chipset. My poor little external Seagate is locked at 11 MB/s--no fun at all. [end o/t]

It would, too, be fair. There is not only a want to see high speed writing, but also low speed writing [8x, 6x, 4x] to see how that fares. [It's more for sport and to provide fodder for those that insist low speed writing is always better or worse]. Plus, if you have a brilliant scan at that speed, why not use it to show off?

I, for one, look forward to your "cat scans".
