I have just ordered this drive myself as i have found such a perfect bond with the 112L writer. Hopefully the 115 will continue this excellent Pioneer writer production.

Also for any other fellow UK members looking for the 115 please check out the following sites:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=713742

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...=10&subcat=185

I ordered mine from Overclockers.co.uk but it seems the Scan order would be slightly cheaper including delivery.

Hope this is of use to someone.

Hmm questionable jitter on some of those burns by 2601 @ 20x. Starting out @ 10% or more jitter.

But I don't know what kind of jitter scanner that new liteon is. Also, if the DVD player makes it past the first high jitter part, it should be fine with the rest of the jitter, which is actually lower

I'd love to see some 8x burns on MCC004 etc and some jitter scans of those burns by the 115

Looks like I might not experience the 112 if I get a 115 instead. I basically got my drives like this:

    106
    109
    111

I like to wait for a bit before getting the latest model.

Hmmm... are you waiting for a 1 or a 0? (Sorry, couldn't resist).

I would wait for a bitsetting firmware or MCSE hack before buying this drive, but unless some nasty flaw is uncovered I'll probably get one.

You should really change your cdspeed settings so it shows up to 20x instead of only 16x though

What's new in 115, they upped the speed from 18x to 20x, anything else? Why did they decide to jump from 112 to 115? They used to use sequential product numbering, at least since 106 (AFAIK).

At what speed will the 115D (from Newegg) rip double-layer pressed video disks? The Pioneer site says 5x, but I seem to recall someone posting faster speeds (~12x). Thanks!

20x +/-R is the only change. As for the number, the other numbers were used in some Asian markets.

The spec sheet says 5x for DVD-VIDEO in both single and dual layer.

I wouldn't know - that's very much a Japanese market thing, and I'm hiding all the way down here in Australia

Buffalo does not only rebadge Pioneer drives, also drives from other companies and sell them as internal and external versions.
