Wow. Thanks...you are really QuiCk..(o) !
Regardless of the singular spike of 78 (which gave a 0 quality) the quality isn’t so bad….I thought to get worse quality from this media.
How is this DVD played on your DVD-ROM? Do you have reading problems?
I’m sorry if I’m bothering you with all these questions .
Thank you very much for your time.

Edit:...last question, I swear!...which is the brand of this disk?

No, your questions don´t bother me. I´m glad when I can help.

The media plays fine until now. Maybe in a couple of months they won´t.
It´s a Memorex branded media, as I wrote in the other post.

I think the 163 will be a good addition to your current drives.

Yeah, I hope so.

Thanks!

I don't usually see results like this on non-Taiyo Yuden media. Granted, it's not a full disc but good results on inexpensive Khypermedia 8X -R. Going to try a larger file size next.
Burned @ 8X on PIONEER 111-D @ A11 with TSUNAMI DVD Author.

Yes, you may ask Vamp, but please, no biting! I paid US$14.99 for a 50 pc. cakebox at my local Best Buy in Northern California. I would have bought more had I known the PIONEER 111 would produce results like this (TYG02 like). This is the stuff here:http://www.khypermediaco.com/dvd_r47gb.html

It does seem like we get cheaper prices for media here in the states. Economies of scale, I guess.
Concerning this Khypermedia 8X -R, I posted this to praise the PIONEER 111's results on this inexpensive Taiwan manufactured CMC media not really to recommend that anyone buy it!
This CMC MAG .AE1 MID did not burn nearly as well on my BENQ 1640, PIONEER 110 or LG4167b. I'm not surprized that people have experienced mixed results at the videohelp link chef posted.

Yeah, the comments on videohelp are mostly a great help, but they can easily misinterpreted.

For normal backups this seems to be a great combination ofr burner & media.

After using mine for a little while, I'd go out on a limb and guess it's "2". Pretty impressive burner.

I'd be curious to see a scan of those CMC's about 6 months from now to see how they were holding up.

That is considerably better than any burn with TYG02. Nice find.

I'm getting a lot of good scans using RicohjpnR03. Unfortunately only burning at 12x though.

So far, the PIONEER 111 is proving to be a fine burner on quite a variety of media. It will be intersting to check these CMC burns over time. I wouldn't say that burn is "considerably better" than this:

why are you cancelling the scan/removing the disc just before it finishes? Please post full scans.

I hate to disappoint you gregtherotterius but everything I commit to DVD is not the maximum amount of data. I assure you I am not cancelling or removing anything.

MKM 001 burnt at 8X.

Oh yeah, and I was multitasking while scanning hence the read jumps.

I've just found today some Imation DVD+RW 8X (MID: PHILIPS RW8) in a local shop: I'm posting the results of the very first burn on one of them.

I'd say that the Z-CLV strategy of the DVR-111 (for the record, mine is a 111D@111) needs some improvement, at least in the 6x-zone...
However, the TRT test does not show any problem in that area.

(disc scanned with a Plextor PX-760A).
