Ask and ye shall receive. Remarkably close corelation between BENQ1640 scan and the PIONEER111 as far as PIF's are concerned: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.ph...1&postcount=94

even your PIE is better, where others are 400+, wonder if it matters that yours is pio111L and ours are pio111d, i mean would the different firmware make a difference. thx for scan

edit i just noticed Sapa has pio111 and not D so it cant be that, maybe the older TYG02 scan differently as i see your scan is 2005.

I think there has to be no difference as these two drives share the same hardware components and the same firmware (the 111L has more than the Pio111D only DVD-RAM and LabelFlash enabled in the firmware).

Are both drives Pio 111 and Pio 111D usualy manufactured in the same factory: I mean in Japan or in China ?

You'd have to ask PIONEER to find that out.
True XL drives surely come out of Japan, true 111L normally too. Some true 111s might be manufactured in .jp, the rest in .ch most likely.

Verbatim-branded 8x +R media, MCC 003 [same as above], burned at 12x P-CAV using MCC 004 strategy.

Obviously, doesn't work as well as with DVR-110.

I love life...Yeah, I'm sad, but at the same time, I'm really happy that something could make me feel that sad. It's like...It makes me feel alive, you know. It makes me feel human. The only way I could feel this sad now is if I felt something really good before. So I have to take the bad with the good. So I guess what I'm feeling is like a beautiful sadness.

Courage and perseverance have a magical talisman, before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into air.

I am so glad that GWB's 8 year COD game is finally over.

The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them-words shrink things that seemed limitless when in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while saying it. Correction :

Burn time should read 18mn 21 (not 8mn 21), of course.

If you mean quality scanning, then probably not as 8x is I believe is the forum standard for accurate results.

If you mean ripping the disc, then yes. MediaCodeSpeedEdit (link to MCSE thread) has the ability to increase read/ripping speeds. Download and extract, open the MCSE application, load firmware, and check the box at bottom right where it say "increase read speed." You can now rip at 16x (max) speed.
