pioneer DVR-109 will read/burn dvd's but wont read Cd's

Asus / Pioneer Writer Discuss, pioneer DVR-109 will read/burn dvd's but wont read Cd's at CD, DVD and Blu-ray Writers forum; Hi , Please help... My pioneer dvd burner (dvr-109) will read and burn dvd's but for some odd reason, it wont read normal cd's. This problem accurred 4 days ago and it all of a sudden stoped reading cd's. If u can help, please let me know.

    it could be the cd laser has failed or it's needing cleaned.

    Test the drive in another computer. Cleaning the drive/lens, could help, but not in any case.
