Imgburn ps2 backup

Using Pioneer dvr-111 to try backup of my dual layer GODOFWAR2 PS2
REad all the forums, gleaned the info and stand as follows
GOW2 - 8gb
Used Toxic dual layer patcher
Pioneer dvr111 r1.29 - informed that the +DL defaults to dvd-rom Book bitsetting
So i go to IMGBURN - tells me to use the mds extension file and not the iso extension file for burning
BUT Toxic had only applied to iso file
Will the mds file foul up the burn or do I still need it for layer swap location

The mds file contains all the information that Imgburn needs for layer break
info and what-not so you'll probably need it for the disc to burn properly or
it might burn without it but I've never tried to burn a disc without the mds
file before so Imgburn may refuse to burn without it.

Your problem has nothing to do with the Pioneer DVR-111 DVD Burner but everything to do with the art and science of Play Station 2 game backup copying. Instructing individuals in the art and science of Play Station 2 game backup copying is out of the function, scope, and focus of the CD Freaks Pioneer DVD Burner Forum.

Suggest visiting one of Web Forums that focus on Play Station 2 game backup copying.

SORRY _ was querying bit setting part - needed someone to confirm that the dvr 111 defaults to dvd-rom speci when burning duall layer - BUT just to let others know if they come to this thread - I used the mds extension file and got a COASTER

Open Imgburn and go to tools, drive, capabilities and it will list what your drive is willing to do for you. I know the newer Pioneers default to ROM with DL media, but not sure how far back it goes in the model line.

EDIT: your coaster could also have something to do with the brand of media you are using.

Its really not that hard.

1. Make a Image of your original GoW disc using ImgBurn, you will get a .iso and .mds file
2. Depending on your modchip, you have to patch the .iso with the Toxic Patcher
3. Select the .mds with ImgBurn and burn it on quality DVD+R DL media such as Verbatim, all PS2 models are picky in DLs

Yes, any Pioneer dvd burner capable of DL (DVD+R DL) burning set the booktype to DVD-ROM by default.
