    Win XP, nero8, DVD-R, Serial ATA connected..
    For Reading CDs and DVDs is fine .. only problem in burning to blank media

    More info about the exact SATA connection & setup is required.

    Hello,

    I have the same problem.

    Windows XP Pro SP3
    MSI K9A2 v.2

    Nero 8.3.13.0

    PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-217F
    Firmware Revision 1.07
    Firmware Date 04.03.2009


    I use Maxell DVD-R 4,7GB, Platinum DVD+R 4,7GB and Ricoh DVD-DL. Nero starts burning, then after 10 seconds it displays an error message: Invalid Block Adress. I burn with 4* speed.
    The DVD burner is configured as Sata. My Sata Configuration is as follows:

    SATA1: harddrive 80GB with Windows XP
    SATA2: harddrive 500GB with Programme
    SATA3: harddrive 1000GB with Data
    SATA4: Pioneer Burner
    SATA5: Samsung Burner (Otherwise here is a normal LG CD/DVD drive, at the moment just to burn the second samsung burner).

    Sometimes the dvd is burnt successfully, but at 90% just the first trace and then Nero cancels.
    Samsung Burner has no problems and burn all media successfully.

    Make sure the SATA controller is in IDE mode and put the Pioneer burner onto another SATA port.
