DVR-110D not reading blank media

Asus / Pioneer Writer Discuss, DVR-110D not reading blank media at CD and DVD Writers forum; ok i just bought my dvr-110d about 4 hours ago and ive been trying to burn a dvd with it. im using Fujifilm 16x DVD-R discs. well i put in the disk and try to burn and it says to insert a disc into the drive and click continue. well

ok i just bought my dvr-110d about 4 hours ago and ive been trying to burn a dvd with it. im using Fujifilm 16x DVD-R discs. well i put in the disk and try to burn and it says to insert a disc into the drive and click continue. well the disk is in THERE!! lol and i don't know what to do i'v ealready tried a different disk (RiTEK DVD+rw 4x) and it doesnt work either neither does ANY CD-R i put in the drive i've already uninstalled it form my device manager and retsarted to see if i could fix it that way. no go any help would be great

READing a blank? Nope, never.

Use a proper burning app for DVD Recordable media!

im sorry i guess i wasn't being specific enough. i'm using the app that came with the dvd-rw drive from Ulead. It's like the dvd-RW drive isn't recognizing that theres a blank disc in there.

maybe you have not selected the drive in the settings options; maybe is other drive selected - like Dtool one or another virtual drive; check-it. And for burns better use a dedicated burning program, limit you application to the task of making an image.

it sees the drive but it keeps telling me that there is no burnable disc in the drive ive tried using ULEAD, Imgburn, And nero7

ImgBurn will check the inserted media and report if it's empty or not.
Try with another (new) media.

i've tried about every one of my disc's that i bought last night as still no go i think i might have gotten a faulty drive?

Use a pressed DVD and try to access/play it.

turns out it was the DVD-RW drive after all! i replaced it with a LG GSA-4166B and it works FLAWLESSLY ! thnaks everyone for the help i really appreciate it!

Yeah, can happen. Maybe it was sold to another one who RMA'd before you...
