Asus / Pioneer Writer Discuss, can i use dvr-109 firmware on dvr-a09xl? at CD and DVD Writers forum; i noticed that rpc1.org has two different set of firmware for 109 & a09; because i am having problems with a09 with my external enclosure, i like to try 109 firmware for external oem version, but i like to make sure it is ok has anyone tried or been using

The procedure is usually done the opposite way round, using DVRUPDATE 0.9 to apply A09 firmware to a 109, in order to use the Quietdrive utility to control rip speed.

Can't see why it wouldn't work the other way, but can't see it making one scrap of difference to the problem either.
