Consistency testing.

Same disc as above scanned three times in the same drive at the same scanning speed (first scan same as above).

Scanned same disc as scanned at many speeds in several other drives here .

This NEC 3500 scan shows significantly less PIF than almost all of the other scans of the same disc, even though this drive is not a strong reader in my experience.

The disc was burnt in Liteon 20A3L and scanned on different drives.

1. NEC3500A @5x
2. NEC3500A @8x
3. Liteon 20A3L
4. BenQ 1650

One of my test discs scanned in a NEC 3500. Scans of the same disc in several other drives can be found here in posts #2 - #6.

No, I have a laptop and a desktop, but my desktop pc is a Soltek Qbic EQ3401 Small Form Factor case with room for only two optical drives. That's why I have so many enclosures that I can swap around.

So many people and so many setups gives this old mans memory a challenge

CD scans using a NEC 3500 can be found here with scans of the same disc in other drives available earlier in the same thread (posts #18 and #22).

As with other NEC/Optiarc drives, I prefer the 32x scanning speed because there are less random C1/C2 spikes.

Any chances to add to 2.R8 latests strategies, especially for +R (1.66/1.29) media?
