| Hi all, not sure if many of you are running your DVD burners in an external USB housing or have had any problems. Anyway here's the deal, i have my NEC ND3500-AD drive in an external usb2 housing plugged into my laptop. I have updated the firmware to 2.18. Using the latest version of Nero. Burning CDs works 100%. Burning DVDs from .ISO file (using Nero) works 100%. Now for some reason when I burn a normal PC data DVD it fails everytime, it starts writing and then Nero gives an error straight away - I didnt save the exact message unfortunately but it crashes at the start, says something like "Failed writing disc at once ..." - the DVD has a tiny bit written on it if i look at it which makes it useless. The weird thing is "Testing" the burn works 100% as well. Any ideas? I havent installed any system/windows ASPI drivers, should I try that? I have also tried using Easy CD/DVD Creator (which came with my laptop) and it also crashes at the start when i burn a data DVD. Thanks! Adam |
