NEC / Optiarc Writer Discuss, Optiarc AD7700H, is it any different from Optiarc AD7700S ? at CD, DVD and Blu-ray Writers forum; Hi All Just received my new Lenovo notebook with Optiarc AD-7700H I was wondering what is the specification of this DVD RW and if its any different than AD-7700S that has RPC1 firmware available at Liggy's and Dee's modified NEC and Optiarc firmwares website http://liggydee.cdfreaks.com/page/en/ Thanks!

Optiarc AD7700H, is it any different from Optiarc AD7700S ?

Hi All
Just received my new Lenovo notebook with Optiarc AD-7700H

I was wondering what is the specification of this DVD RW
and if its any different than AD-7700S that has RPC1 firmware available at Liggy's and Dee's modified NEC and Optiarc firmwares website

7700H has litescribe and the 7700S does not I think is the only difference.

Maybe you can use the latest Binflash version to create an identification file for this drive, so I can add support for it in Binflash and maybe release patched firmwares in the future.

That was the expected behaviour. I didn't have enough data for this drive before, so I couldn't add support for it in Binflash. I'll send you a PM with a link to a Binflash testversion that will generate a dump file for me. But you cannot use the generated file to flash your drive.
