Nec 4551a Dvd-r Read Problem

| Suddenly my nec4551A drive stopped reading dvd-r discs(all the disks i had burn with it and other -r disks),it probably happened when i upgraded to 1.08 original firmware. Now when I insert a dvd-r in xp it shows it as empty and says cd-drive. The disks can be read in dos or win98 thought!!! I even tried fresh win xp install and other pcs with xp-all the same result. Can anyone suggest any firmware or give me a dump firmware of his to use?I am 99% sure that is firmware problem, tried the new 1.09 orig and many liggys firmwares but nothing. Please help!!!Can this problem be solved? |
