I flashed my OEM NEC 3500AG to 2.18 using the official 2.18 .exe file Result was my drive telling me it was now a NEC 3100 and a flashing light on the front of it, I though it was dead So I flashed back to 2.16 after a reboot

Hi. I flashed my OEM NEC 3500AG to 2.18 using the official 2.18 .exe file

Result was my drive telling me it was now a NEC 3100 and a flashing light on the front of it, I though it was dead

So I flashed back to 2.16 after a reboot and its now a 3500 again

But the .exe file for upgrading to 2.18 now hangs
Any way of clearing this up? Or flashing to 2.18 another way?

Presumably all this gives better DVD speeds etc.

Thanks

Moved to the NEC forum.

Try flashing with a binary firmware and a third party flash tool.
