NEC 3500 quality scanning firmware?

NEC / Optiarc Writer Discuss, NEC 3500 quality scanning firmware? at CD and DVD Writers forum; Anyone know if this drive supports quality scanning in nero cd-dvd speed. is there a firmware that allows this? I'm currently using 2.1b but I get an error every time.

There was a test firmware around 2 years ago which supported Disc Quality Scanning with CD-Speed on the ND-3500A. NEC never released the firmware.

I'm still using my 3500 but i gave up on the chance to make it a scanner. Heck of a great burner though!
