| Hi, I recently purchased the NEC 3500 drive and was wondering if you can help me with some questions I have. My drive does not write at 8X speed on 8X speed media but only at 4X. Is this a problem with the drive or is it the media im using? Im using Bulqpaq 8X speed DVD-R media. I use these discs as they are very cheap and i used to use the 4X discs from bulqpaq on my previous drive and never had any problems with any discs then. Would I need to buy different discs? any reccomendations? Im from UK Im also looking for DL discs that will be compatible with my drive. | svp state in the more info box that these dual layer discs wont work on nec drives until a firmware upgrade has been released. maybe someone on this forum can help with a mod firmware release |
