My dvds are in folders whith many vob archives....¿i can bur this whith imgburn whithout create one iso before? virtual device o something like this...

I was probe whith VirtualClone drive, but can´t do it.

I was probe dvdfab, nero, plato dvdcopy, apollo dvdcopy and all whith error. But in the lasts days i was burn aprox. 40 DL and no problem....for this my nec can burn DL the problem is in another component o software (i don´t change nothing in my xp)

Any idea please?

The burner is ok, whay i can burn dvd5 perfectly.

well that media is hit or miss, mostly miss when you look at the quality of the burns

nero might be corrupt, it needs to be reinstalled after running the clean tools from time to time

for dual layer, nero is not a good choice as it doesn't give you enough control of setting the layer break

imgburn in build mode will make your iso and give you a selection for the layer break

it also has a filter driver load order tool that's handy for working with problematic drivers loaded by iffy programs like sonic and itunes

I am never quite sure of slaving a dvd burner to a lesser drive, sharing the cable and power connection

that mounted virtual drive is another issue, better to disable it

dl dvd burning is much more touchy/hard/problematic than single layer, your sucess with single layer is irrelevant, just means that your drive is not dead, does not mean that everything is optimal

Now i was conected my nec in master mode (before are in slave) and one IDE only for this.

I try burn whith imgburn mode buil and have the same error. Something has ocurred in my pc :cry mayby hardware problem??? What can I do now?? Mayby is problem of power alimentatión of my pc?? or i need buy another burner especially for DL??

3 day ago was burned almos 40 DL perfectly, and now is impossible,

Probably why i probe all things (reinslaling nero, connect de burner in master, imgburn, one disc verbatin etc,,)

First will probe whith the power supply and later (if no works) whith a new burner. (i hope the problem are of the two or one of two devices)

What burner recomended to me specially for burn DL?? i was ear pioneer 112, lite on 20h....another diferent...or this is indiferent?

Very surprising statement, think it's the first time I read something like that you posted here DaChew.

Dual layer burning (say at 4 or 8x) requires much less laser (and system) power then a 16x SL burn.
The technical quest with DL burning is more about medias structure and most important OPS's/lasers capability to refocus correctly for burning the second layer. Be aware, second layer burning just requires 50% laser power compared to first layer...
This has nothing to do with PSU or system "power". Any burner "able" burning SL media at 4x is also able to burn DL at 4x. Period.
(I'll stop here about technologies details regarding DL burning, not to take this thread even more off topic.)

@Regon. Verbatim (MKM-001 and 003) is the only DL media ND-3500 will burn properly (but this fact has already been posted above).
When changing media doesn't help, buy new burner.

BTW, ND3500 is still used in our home (although I have 9 other DVD burners) even for DL burns...

as I stated 2 days ago in this thread, he needs a new burner, preferably a pioneer 112,
especially if he's bought a bunch of second rate disks

I would think that firmware uses the same write strategy for all the mkm mids since the speeds are the same
