| I recently flashed my 2510a with f/w version 2.18 (drive had original shipping version 2.15) via NEC's site. When using the drive now ( DVD Decrypter, watching movies, DVD Shrink, Nero Burning ROM ), my system slows down considerably. In fact, when using DVD Decrypter, the read rate is only 1.8x.......much slower than the rate I got prior to update and on my older system. I'm using the drive in a new PC I just built (OS=Win2KPro, intel 3.2 ghz proc, MSI 925xe Neo mobo, Geil 1 ghz DDRAM), so it shouldn't be taxing this system this much at all. I was using it in my older Compaq Presario and didn't have this issue. I updated the NEC's firmware because I thought it was necessary since the version I had on it was 2.15. Has anyone here experinced the same problems, if so how did you fix it? I'd like to just go back to the f/w version 2.15 but don't know how to do this. Any help is greatly appreciated! |
