NEC 2500A error message

I have had this drive for well over a year with no problems.

Just recently I have been getting the following message from Nero 7 when I burn a DVD from an iso image.

18:31:06 #39 CDR -1106 File Writer.cpp, Line 302
Power calibration error
F: _NEC DVD_RW ND-2500A

Is the drive faulty? I could do with a new faster one...

Welcome to CD Freaks Forum.

Probably media related or Nero 7.

Try to burn the iso with DVDDecrypter. So we can eliminate Nero 7.

What's the mediacode of the dvd+-r your trying to burn to. Use DVDIdentifier to retreive mediacode.

What's the firmware of your NEC 2500.

The firmware is 1.0A

A similar error appeared in Nero 6.6 as well.

This media, Datawrite Titanium, has worked OK in the past.

I have run DVD Identifier, but I am not sure what info you want from it...

DataWrite is not known for quality media. They change supplier all time.

You could have been unlucky and received a bad batch.

Try another brand of media.

Try with better quality media.
