LD_V1 Final (Liggy & Dee Version 1 firmware)

Package contents
Binflash + LD V1 Firmware
LD V1 firmware BIN file
Documentation and Media table.

This firmware is based on Liggys Bitsetting NEC ND-3500AG 2.18 firmware with riplock removed and RPC1.

You flash your drive with this firmware at your own risk. Neither I, Liggy or cdfreaks will be held responsible if your drive or media is damaged in any way.

The firmware is now bundled with Liggys Binflash
Unzip then run the package, now click on the FLASH button.

This firmware has been tested and is found to give good results with the modified media list and with the other media which has not been speeded up.
Please read the supplied documentation.

RITEK M02 set to 8X

Note
A few people have reported a problem with BOOKTYPE (DVD-ROM ) while burning a DVD+R9 (DL) disc with 2.18 firmware.
You are advised to switch on BOOKTYPE DVD-ROM in your burning software before burning a DL disc then switch it back off for SL +R discs.

If the speedups don’t give you good results. Set the burn speed lower. This firmware will give good results at the stated stock firmware speed, without having to flash back to a stock firmware.

No, it's because that DVD had thousands of files.

I'm using a program that creates the ISO image and burns it on the fly with rock ridge and joliet extensions. When I burn a DVD with only about 100 files, it takes 9 minutes.

I'm using LD_V1 not stock firmware.

LD_V1_Final Taiyo Yuden TYG01 burned at 12X (a 300% overspeed)

There ya go Quikee, the 12X TYG01 scan you requested. I had scanned some before, but not with Final code. Perhaps just a tad fast for my batch of TYG01 but still a fairly good result.

NEC does not need to waste money for firmware development of this drive, cause you 2 guys, do the job for it.

I'll try to find some authentic TY 002 media. For the moment I'll test the Richoh JPN R02 with this firmware. The previous beta11 with my drive had some quality decrease higher than it is shown in Dee's test right above, so I think I'll try this firmware.

I would not think so Solar, i've played with opc off, there is no great advantage in speed, and 2 out of 3 discs are coasters.

I would not worry too much about not reaching 16X on your T02 and JPNR02 burn, it had little effect on the burn time. Not all T02 or JPNR02 will reach 16X
Your Transfer test seems pretty ok.

My T02 are Fuji branded.
My Ricoh JPNR02 are also Fuji branded. made in Germany according to the packaging.

My T02 are TY OEM from rima.com and my JPNR02 are Ritek X-series
Is the speed drop at the end normal? Or is it a problem with my drive?

Its impossible to say, i would bet on the media being not quite as good.
