These discs burned very well at 12x using Herrie's 2.17 n Liggy's 2.18. Ofcourse they now burn in CAV mode instead of Z-CLV.

Gonna update to V1 n see what gives.

Just running a quality test on a G05 burned at 12x. Burn seemed to go well so fingers crossed

Just got a PI spike at 2477!!!!!! Seems to be where the speed of the disc changes in the burn where the greatest errors occur.

Unfortunately i cant access my webspace at the mo but i'll post pictures when i can

Just wanted to thank you for your excellent work on the firmware! Well this is my first post here.. and my first Dual Layer burn. so i was gonna share my results. Didnt know that there was a RC2 release. so my burn was with the RC1 firmware on a 3500a. Verbatim (MKM001) burned at 2.4x

LD_V1_RC1 Philips 8x-RICOHJPNR02 at 16X

Burn time: 6:17

There's the peaks near the end and then the PIs go down. This was because the AOPC kicked in and reduced the burn speed.

With beta12, I could burn my AN31 crap at 8x. Indeed, this is not the best thing to do, but when burning less than 4 gigs, results are very good. In post #1 of this thread, you list AN31 at 4x max. Is this a result of the cleanup work? Haven't tried V1 or V2 yet, 'cause I'm not at home, but I will ASAP. Would be nice if AN31 still burns at 8x, it saves you half the time to find out whether it's a coaster or not...

Imation, CMC MAG.AE1, 8x branded, burned @ 12x, LD_V1_RC2

Hmm, I think I like this burn better, albeit, it was burned with a different app ( CloneDVD2).

Edit: Also I note the NS v3.50 write information cannot be picked up on this disc. I've never seen this before. I'll upgrade to v3.55...

I have to agree C0deKing, i feared this may happen if i tried to play with 2X - 8X parts of the Custom Strats. Ritek G04 burn better (slightly) those MAG AE1 are worse.
It was worth a try i'll revert back to the old 2X - 8X parts for next release. most likely Thursday now.

@2610
Nice burn on the MCC02RG20
The RITEK G05 has way to many PIF errors. I guess 12X is a no go area with the current strategy.

EDIT : bedtime for me
