Issues with a NEC-6650A slim DVD

NEC / Optiarc Writer Discuss, Issues with a NEC-6650A slim DVD at CD and DVD Writers forum; I have been having a very hard time getting my DVD burner in my laptop to burn DVD's I have tried multipul versions of media and it wont work. I have put in the error message from nero 7. Code:

Your drive has the latest firmware but you might need to modify it with Media Code Speed Edit (MCSE) and re-flash it. This is depedent on the MID of the discs you're trying to use.

Specifically what is the brand, type and speed of your discs?
Ex: Verbatim DVD+R 16x or Verbatim DVD-R 16x

Even better would be for you to post the MID of the disc(s). You can use DVD Identifier or Nero CD-DVD Speed to show you the disc info.
