Software Problem: Fuzzy pictures

I pretty much start all messages with the confirmation that I'm a technoidiot, but I am learning a little more each day. I have downloaded an mp4 and an avi file from the online share progrms (movies). I simply burned the avi file to DVD but used Nero to recode the mp4. Both movies play on my tv, but both are very fuzzy. Obviously I've done something wrong. Les

| I don't use Ner0, but most likely it re-encoded the avi to DVD specs...You will always have some quality loss when converting/re-encoding...As far as the MP4, well it's 'obvious', you used Ner0 to "re-code"...Again more quality loss... Best to, not convert when possible and play as-is..Do any of your players support AVI Dvix/Xvid playback?
