| Re: News server/ hostname Don't Sky put this info on their website somewhere? I know Telewest/Virgin do. You might have to dig about a bit to find it though, with the new Virgin site it's well hidden so Sky may be similar.

| Re: News server/ hostname Sky has no news(group) server. There are not really any free reliable newsgroup servers since you always need to subscribe to an internet service provider (isp). You could also try giganews, but it'll cost you.

| Re: News server/ hostname http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-b...ws-server.html No news server, and while you may get text or 50MB/day trial binary for free, for moderate binary use, a PAYG block scheme would be good, or for higher use, a pay monthly. Claranews is often mentioned, particularly as it's UK based http://www.uk.clara.net/home-office/...claranews.html 10GB per month capacity, £29.99 per year http://www.bubbanews.com/ Free ($3.95 registration) account available http://www.teranews.com/createaccount.html Free ($3.95) 50MB account (same backend). Alrernatively, for medium users, 30GB per year, $29.95 per year - credits roll over, or re-buy if 30GB used before a year Or http://usenet-news.net/index1.php?url=get A 30GB non expiring block for $10 - makes teranews 30GB look expensive Last edited by Matth; 03-10-2007 at 00:26. |
