First off I am sorry if this question has been answered a thousand times in the past. I checked the last 4 pages on this thread and couldn't find any info concerning my question. Is limewire pro safe? Does it have spyware/adware? I asume the answer is yes, thus it wouldn't be recommended to load it on a computer system. Am I correct in this assumption? Sorry for the noob question. Thanks in advance.

I know someone very close to me that uses Limewire Pro for a year or so and he has no problems with any type of Spyware or Ads, I check it every once and awhile and it seem to be very safe. Its really up to the user whether he wants P2P software on his computer.

Oh, I don´t know if this is the right place but I want to tell you that I learnd something today about Limewire and viruses or something.
My boyfriend said I have to scan my hard drive with my anti-virus program and I did it myself and it found TWO things (trojins I think) in some music but he said it was good becos I hadn´t tried to play them and the antivirus deleted the file.
I mean, maybe it´s not really very safe and it is a good idea to scan these things before playing them cos maybe it would let the virus do bad stuff.
Is that correct?

I have Anti-Vir. I think it´s a good one. What do you guys think?

EIGGER,
I have tried limewire pro,and most of the time it's pretty good to
mix songs. The only thing you have to be careful of are the joke
downloads. They usually download very fast, and are just some
wack job's attempt at comedy. I recommend if you find a lot of these
after your finished run your ant-virus software just to be careful.
Enjoy ZAP.

AntiVir is fine (Deutsche Gründlichkeit, one would expect), although I don't like the nag screen (AVG and Avast! don't have this) and it's known to give some false positives on occasion. Using P2P is risky in many respects, so it's your call.

Just get Frostwire.

It's the same as Limewire Pro, but free and no risk - I heard the Feds were getting cushy with the people that make LWP.

I have been using Limewire Pro for a couple of years now, and haven't had any problems to speak of..........for protection, I use McCafee, Windows Defender (a freebee on the microsoft web site), and PC Safe (formerly Ad-Aware) which does a good job on cookies in particluar- It has picked up all the tracking cookies, and some "malware/variants; I highly recommend it. And then there is a freeware called MP3 Shield. It detects corrupted files on the download, or your saved collections - a corrupted file may be the result of an uninvited guest! Good luck! - Repoman1122 :^)

they are all pretty much the same, as long you scan what you've downloaded before using it.
