Dc++

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone has had this problem I am encountering. I have been a fan of DC++ for more than 2 years and just recently the modem I am connecting with just resets itself. That means, DC++ says that there is no connection to the internet. This has been going on for about 3 months progresively getting worst. It started with it doing it once a week to now every 10 minutes!! By reseting I mean, the connection does go away, but the modem lights all suggest that it is still receiving something since non of my modem's lights really go out. But I don't have internet access. I have to unplug the modem and the connection resumes just to shut down again. At first I thought it was a modem problem, but I have left my modem on all night and it has a connection the minute I get up. I thought I had a virus, but Norton Security suite does not pick anything up. I re-installed windows on the computer that I do all my downloads with, and again everything is fine until I start downloading from DC++. I can be on the internet, and I never loose my connection until I start downloading from DC++!! Is there something I am missing?? I am connected right now to the internet to write this letter. No connection problems. If I go to DC++, my modem resets!! What gives??. I am at my witts end. Has anyone else experience anything like this before? If it's the modem, then why does it only do it when I am on DC++?? Any help would be appreciatted.

Just in case you are all wondering, I have downloaded the latest version of DC++. I worked previously with Windows XP Home Edition and now I have installed Windows XP pro and still the same problem.

Re: Dc++

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. None of the other P2P programs cause it for me, just DC++ and RevConnect. I hope somebody can answer this problem.

Re: Dc++

Using Norton Internet Suite 2005. Do you really think Norton could be causing this? I have had Norton on my pc for the last 6 years and I never had any kinds of conflicts with it.

Re: Dc++

Ohh well, I guess this is one of those freaky things that happens to me and a couple other poeple. Right now, sometimes, it will stay on for 3 to 4 hours and then reset so it's never really the same amount of time before it does it again. Again it's only when I am in DC++, it never does it any other time so go figure. I tried Revconnect and it's ok for singles, but whole CD's it blows, I'm gonna try Azeures, but I am not that familiar with the whole bit torrent scene, I guess I will have to go back and read some of your old threads to get a handle on this beast.
