It's been nagging me for ages, does anyone know how the protection works on SD cards (you know... the postage sized flash memory ones)? I have some mapping software (legitimate ) that will allow me to only place charts on one SD cards for my gps to use, I'd really like to have a range of charts on different SD cards I can carry with me .........just wondered how it works. and if there's a workaround so I can copy to other sd cards. Is there a serial on the sd card or what, can't find any information on SD card security anywhere. so posted here

It works using region coding i think. Unless you modify the code on the files, im not sure that you can do what you want to do, im afraid that modifying the files code will not be discussed here.
