Hello everybody!

I've been trying to copy Blaupunkt/TeleAtlas DX Navi-CD Greece for my Navigation System in my Car.
I read all postings here and used all possible methods.
I hope you can help me.

I used Clony XXL and found out that the Protection is Safedisc V2
I tried reading /writing on my TEAC CD-W516EB
with CloneCD 4.1.0.1. as a Data CD
and with Alcohol 120% 1.9.2. Build 1705
reading with the default settings for Safedisc 2/3 (only ignore Read Errors and Fast error-skipping are checked)
writing with the default settings for Safedisc 2/3 (RAW DAO Mode, Buffer Underrun and Skip EFM Errors were checked)

The CD's were burned correctly but my Navigation System in my car did not accept them. So I continued trying...

I read/write with my DVD-recorder SONY DRU-700A
with CloneCD 4.3.3.1. as a Data CD
and with Alcohol 120% 1.9.2. Build 1705
reading with the default settings for Safedisc 2/3 (only ignore Read Errors and Fast error-skipping are checked)
writing with the default settings for Safedisc 2/3 (RAW DAO Mode, Buffer Underrun and Skip EFM Errors were checked)
I also tried unchecking the Skip EFM Error option but the result was the same...

The CD's were not accepted by my Navi-System.

What can I do? I read the list with known Safedisc 2 Killers but did not find any of my 2 readers/writers. Is this list still active or is it old?

Please help!!

Thanx!

Hi!

I don't think that this is the case. I had no problem copying the previous version. My Navi-System had no problem. Do u know how I can find out which Version of Safedisc 2 is being used?

A-Ray Scanner v2.0.0.0 just gives me this info:

[15:05:41] Signs on CD/DVD indicate SafeDisc 2
[15:05:52] --- File(s) Scan Finished [7.20s] ---
[15:06:21] SafeDisc detected -> I:\cd1-1918 v3 [81863B52]

what to do?

Can you please install this software and scan the install directory with A-Ray.
This should report the SafeDisc version number for you.

Cheers

Did you try the SafeDisc analyser?
My bet is it phones home to actually check if the cd is valid via GPRS or GPS, i dont know.
But then again, id say your car cd reader would be a ROM, not a CD-RW, so it wouldnt be able to detect as well as a burner (ATIP)

Hello,

all Teleatlas Navigation CDs (Greece, Germany, Alpen, etc.) 2004/2005 Edition are copy protected by (new) SafeDisc v3.1/3.x and NOT Safedisc v2.x. Due the fact that Teleatlas has implemented a "custom" Safedisc protection (many safedisc file missing, only the navi executable are protected) any Protection ID scanners like a-ray,etc says the disc are protected with safedisc 2.x. (the 00001.tmp file exist ;-) WRONG.

the main so called "exe" is not a native nor any x86 compatible executable. And; yes, the most navi systems reads copyied cdr's.

there is, just right now, the same situation like in the other threads "Safedisc v3.x". Its highly hardware dependent if the copy will work or fail. also the used cdr media, and the burning speed. to read the orginal use the same "read" profiles/suggestion like the other SD3 games. to write use only max. 2x speed and and an high quality cdr.

me has no luck so far with a running backup. - but by some other people a copy work.

Is there any more developments about this issue (how to make a copy of a teleatlas dx navi cd)?

I have managed to make a backup of this. Here is what I did

Reader: Sony DRU-500a
Writer: Plextor Premium

I used alcohol 120% 1.92 Build 1705

I used the safedisc profile and read the disk at 1x.
Burned at 4x on Datawrite Silver Blue 700mb disks

Works like a treat.

I'm trying to backup the Teleatlas Portugal/Spain 2004/2005 DX (1953 v4).

I used several writers, with low write speed (1X-4X):
- HP CD-Writer Plus 7200e
- LG GSA 4081B
- TEAC DW-224E-A

I used alcohol 120% 1.92 Build 1705, with Safedisk 2/3 profile.

I also used several CD-Rs, like:
- Sony
- Memorex
- Sky
- Others...

... but untill now with no sucess - after loading the software, the message is NO NAVI CD

Can someone help me???

Thanks,

I have made a backup copies of my navigation cds today. I used Alcohol 120% 1.9.5 - 2802 (trial version). I used the Safedisc 2/3 profile.
It worked well, there was no problem.
I have the LG GSA-4163 DVD ROM. The cds were burned with full speed (40x).
CD: Verbatim Super Azo Crystal DL+
And I copied Germany, France and the Alps. All of them are DX 2004/2005 versions -1860 v4, 1905 v2, 1800 v4.
I wish you good luck.

I've just read this and thought i'd reply -

The Teleatlas discs are copy protected and yes they will copy. It took me time and patience to get to the conclusions reached above, and only after replacing my burner with a Plextor premium. I used Blindwrite, but I guess any software that can copy safedisc should be ok. I also burned on the slowest setting possible and noticed that certain brands of CDR would not work.

I'm probably not the best person to lecture on piracy but you really should own the original and have the copy in the car.

Hello,
I am new on the forum and i have a question about my Blaupunkt Tele Atlas navi-software BeNeLux DX. 3 months ago i bought the original navi-CD and made a backup. Unfortunatly i used the original in the car and put the backup in the closet. Now the original is damaged (by my dog) and can now use my backup-CD. Today i tried to make again a backup of my first backup the same way like i did with my original. No success however. Is it possible that one can not make a copy of a copy ?
I am using a Lite-On 5239 + Alcohol 120 %, navisoft is Tele Atlas BENELUX DX 2005-2006.
Thanks,
James.

DX map is usually protected with SafeDisc 3.x (some previous SD2.9).
Don't know the reason yet, but burning with Alcohol 120% is wrong method. Most of copies doesn't work.

To be sure copy will work use CloneCD, good burner and media.
Tested map DX 2005/2006
Soft CloneCD 5.2.2.1
CD-R TDK (tdk is very good media for navi readers)

burning speed: x4
weak sectors: amplify
don't repair subchannel data - yes
close last session - yes

burners LG 4163 and 8520 ok
(8160b failed - can't write SD 2.9 and higher)

This is how i do it.

It took me some time to crack it but now i have.
this is what you need to do.

You need a PLEXTER PREMIUM cd writer
A-RAY scanner to find out what copy protection is being used,
then you use ALCOHOL 120 to copy the image, you must set the read and write speeds to the lowest settings.
AND the cd's i use are VERBATIM cdr 80 min CRYSTAL SUPER AZO.

Any prob's let me know

Good luck MARK.

i tried it with Alcohol120% and it does the trick for DX 2005/2006 Deutschland cd but not for western europe DX 2004/2005.
Maybe they have a different protection.
An older version of western europe 2002 was copied fine with standard roxio copier. the Roxio did not even start with the newer cd's.
