DVD2One Discuss, Paid, can't download for 3 days now at Movie copy software forum; Hmmm, this is nasty. I tried to pay for the full version last week, but the payment section was down. On saturday, I did manage to pay for it. On recieving my registration code, I find that the download section is now down. The page has been down since tuesday
Hmmm, this is nasty. I tried to pay for the full version last week, but the payment section was down. On saturday, I did manage to pay for it. On recieving my registration code, I find that the download section is now down. The page has been down since tuesday last week as far as I can tell. Perversely - I'd be getting better results if I'd pirated the software. While it would be illegal - at least I could use the damned thing.

There's been a DoS attack on the site last week. Everything looks good now from here... [Edited to add: there's also a spanish mirror at http://www.dvdauno.com/download.html ]
Cool - the spanish page lets me enter my details and returns a download page, but the download itself is still not working. Thanks for the tip tho - I thought I'd nearly got it then. As for this being a DOS attack - not likely. A DOS needs to be sustained by those perptrating it. As soon as they get bored and go attack something else, the service returns. To sustain high traffic for 5 days would require a herculean effort on the part of the attackers. Or at least a huge lack of effort from those being attacked to trace the attackers and have them stopped.
there was an attachment to my email with the registration #. You sure you did not have that? Its a small program. bruce
OK, hands up, I am officially a complete spud. I have now located the attachment.

Hi guys have just paid and entered details, hit download and it was an HTML file ???? So checked there wasnt an attachment on email so am baffled. When I try to enter reg info into trial vers, it just saiys use retail vers. Have alreday emailed author, just thought you might be able to offer some help. Thanks in advance Maze
I was faced with this problem this weekend,Rene (from DVD2ONe. com) solved my problem. I suggest sending him a private message detailing your problem, even on the weekend,he was able to help me.
@ Ruffrob Thanks,, "I'm not alone..." have PM'd Rene, supplied details, and emailed Erwin, even requested reg code again via email, still nothing...... I guess they have all gone out for a beer tonite Pity as I have booked tmrw off work to do some backups, looks like the only 'backup' I will get now, is my own So what happens, is the proggy as an attachment or when you hit download should you actually get a program and not just an HTML page ??
I am having the same problem. When I enter the user name and registration number all I get is a download of an html file that is the page in which I am supposed to enter the user name and registration number. Kinda vicious cycle of reentering. I have emailed Erwin but not heard back.
@ ReneHave just recvd an email with attachment and all seems to work fine. Thanks. I guess if you just hang on they will get back to you. Maze |
Guys you all have the same problem I have - I did not read the mail properly. The mail that contains your reg+userid also has a teeny attachment, a zip file. It is the full exe of DVD2ONE. Go re-read the mail, then go slap yourself stupid like I had to.
Well, I got to say that I finally got it but it wasn't all that simple. For some reason (maybe my browser) I did not have an attachment showing. I even checked my alternate email at another computer with a different browser and still no attachment. Sooooo. in messing around and trying different things, this is what worked for me. I went to the DVD2One website and clicked on Download. There I entered the User Name and Registration Code then clicked on Download. Then a File Download box came up with the following instructions. You have chosen to download a file from this location. <i><u>download.htm from www.dvd2one.com</u></i> What would you like to do with this file? 1. Open this file from its current location. 2. Save this file to disk. Here I needed to select the first option. The obvious choice would be number 2, but all that does is download the download.htm page. After selecting 1 and clicking OK, another File Download box appears exactly as the first <b>except</b> the download file is: <i><u>download.php from dvdauno.com</u></i> Again I select 1 and click OK. Now a third Download box appears, this time however the download file is: <i><u>dvd2one.exe from dvdauno.com</u></i> Here I select <b>option 2</B> and click OK and bingo, bango, bongo! I have the file. I am not sure why I had to go through these steps but I am glad I did. I made my first DVD backup last night and it works great.
