The REAL MDR1 Mitsubishi HDTV's will support full high definition display at 1080p resolution and will be offered in three sizes: 40", 46" and 55".

Features include the full HD LCD dubbed "Diamond Panel", LED backlighting, a 3D capable Blu-ray recorder, a whopping 1TB HDD, the 10 speaker DIATONE audio system, a USB port, HDMI output, SD card slot and a pair of 3D glasses.

The sets will go on sale starting October 21st in Japan. The multitude of features doesn't come cheap though. The 40 inch model will pack an MSRP at $3,500, the 46 inch model at $4,700 and the 55 inch model at $5,900.

Unfortunately for those of us around the world that do not live in Japan, we will probably never have the option to purchase the 3D TV behemoths. Blu-ray recorders are extremely popular in Japan, but most manufacturers fail to release these products in other regions of the world. Perhaps it's due to the Japanese people's willingness to splurge more on high tech and more expensive devices.
